There are many options for investing in the arts to help Steel River Playhouse, while gaining income tax benefits. To make your gift most effective, please consider one of the following:
Cash
Cash gifts are the most common. Charitable gifts typically and currently qualify for federal tax deductions, usually making the out-of-pocket cost to the donor of a cash donation less than its face value. The Steel River Playhouse can help donors spread out larger contributions over time.
Appreciated Stocks, Bonds, and Real Property
Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, or real property may provide even greater tax benefits than cash gifts of equal value. Under current tax law, donors may be able to take a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property, and not pay capital gains taxes. Donors also may be allowed to deduct the full fair market value of property up to 30% of adjusted gross income for the year.
Life Insurance
This may provide an easy way to make a substantial gift. Fortunate donors for whom life insurance has outlived its original purpose may be able to assign their policies to Steel River Playhouse.
Gifts Through a Will or Trust
By making a bequest in their Wills to Steel River Playhouse, donors can help ensure the future of quality performing arts resources for our area. Or, consider leaving Assets in Trust, assigning the income to one or two beneficiaries, and the Trust principal to Steel River Playhouse.
In-Kind Goods or Services
Steel River Playhouse appreciates in-kind donations of services or supplies that offset the costs of ongoing building operations and programming. To discuss this option, please contact us.
Consult Counsel
Donors should consult legal or tax counsel to determine which type of giving is best for you, so they receive the maximum benefit for their objectives while supporting the Steel River Playhouse.
